I took a half hour to do before, I suspect it may take at least 3 or 4 hours to do it now. Seems like a lot of work when Front 3 did it so easily. I have Photoshop 5 and 7 so I suppose I will have to do all this in Photoshop and paste it in somehow. I tried a Jalbum to insert a photogallery INTO my page (into a table, and you insert the code for your gallery) Jalbum simply puts the thumbnail on your page, and when clicked, the code redirects you to THEIR page to view your album, complete with THEIR ADVERTISING! This is unacceptible to me. (for instance in a scene of hills you might have a name "Bob's Hill, near Bobville." and this is displayed with the picture in Front Page made page galleries) I was told this is because the newest updates of Firefox and Internet Explorer cannot read those galleries? In Frontpage, you could make several arrangements, and have a Title for your picture when displayed as well as a sentence of what it was about etc.Įxpressions Web just puts the thumbnail up there, and no provision for information, so your viewers have no idea what it may be about. It seems unfortunate, but Expressions Web cannot do as well as Front 3 for creating photogalleries. If you know EW then it's really quite simple, I have one on my site here- although looking at it again I need to clear some of the trash out! HTH. You will then need to load the templates, images and index page to your server. Again I use tables to draw up a large grid and into each cell I place the smaller thumbnail copy of the picture with a link to the main display page. Now you need to create an index (not to be confused with a home page) to these image filled pages. For every image you wish to show make a copy of the template and insert the picture, naming it whatever you like. Make yourself a template page (I use tables, horror of horrors I know, but it works) that will accept a display size image. For arguments sake lets size the thumbnails at 80px along their larger side and 400px for the display photos along their longest side. There is a reasonably quick and easy way which I outlined a few days ago, inexplicably the search engine can't seem to find it so I am unable to refer you to the posting concerned, so here we go again, and maybe again, who knows! However, you first need to create thumbnail and display size copies of your pictures, I do this in Photoshop using 'Save for web'.
